· Dommar provided a number of resources in the role of Project Management support having experience working in city congested areas and/or with open cut tunnelling, tunnel ramps and tunnel portals in particular being built within congested and trafficated inner city environments. The Dommar resource worked within the broader DPTI project delivery team and were predominantly based full time at or near the O’Bahn construction site.

· The Dommar resources through their project delivery experience obtained working in similarly congested city works enhanced project delivery safety and minimised impact to local residents, businesses, schools, the general commuting public and public transportation. Not limiting those impacts attributed to noise, vibration and air quality.

Darlington Expressway Upgrade Project

Project Value: $754 M

· The Darlington Upgrade Project is a significant part of the delivery of Adelaide’s North-South Corridor. The upgrade will extend the existing Main South Road by approximately 3.3 kilometres

· Over the construction phase of this project, Dommar has provided many resources comprising of a Design Managers and many Project Managers (including quality / project managers to SA Water Corporation also working on the project).

· The Dommar resources enhanced the performance of the DPTI team working in close collaboration with the principal construction Contractor resulting in joint problem solving, the fast track delivery of an efficient design optimising deliverables and allowing early engagement of works.

· Relocation of existing contestable services was an early performance milestone required to allow early construction access.

APY Lands - Main Access Road Upgrade

Project Value: $141.78

Duration: 2019 — 2020 and ongoing into 2022

· Dommar was engaged in role Senior Project Manager for the construction delivery phase of the project.

· Dommar’s resource is required to have senior management skills working in complete isolation having the experience and leadership skills to make on the run decisions. In many circumstances this requires ongoing liaising with the local community elders with regards to formalising final road alignments, access and removal of non-significant tress and vegetation, the establishment of borrow pits, construction camp sites and laydown areas.

· The project covering many hundreds of kilometres is being delivered working many fronts simultaneously requiring the Dommar Sen. Project Manager to travel vast distances every day between the multiple work fronts and having to return to camp every evening.

City Tram Extension Project

Project Value: $80M (total for the two projects)

· Dommar provided a number of resources in various Project Manager roles whom participated with design development through to construction completion. The Dommar’s resources through their team leadership and project delivery experience enhanced project delivery efficiency and team collaboration, resulting in joint problem solving, an efficient best for purpose quality design and its construction delivery for a project that was delivered in the heart of Adelaide city challenged with vehicle and commuter traffic all whilst striving to maintain access to local businesses and supply services (eg water, sewer, power, coms, etc).

· Extensive early stakeholder consultation most importantly Adelaide City Council (also a joint contributor of $5m to capital funds), Public Transportation sector, providers non contestable services, local businesses, community groups. Early and open consultation ensured alleviated of most concerns and the gain of stakeholder and community support for the project.

Gawler East Link

Project Value: $60M

Duration: 2018 — 2020

Our Skills Used on this Project

Supported the early pre-construction design development of the works requiring extensive consultation with stakeholders including local council and the surrounding property developers. The project had numerous challenges associated with various work site areas as outlined below;
- Significant volumes of quarry tailings discovered under new road pavement areas and also adjacent new bridge crossing in abutment areas requiring extensive early design engagement optioneering and including early contractor participation. Solution adopted was to strip back tailings in places over 20 mtrs deep and recompact with engineered fill.
- Early extensive geotechnical investigation and reporting was required to firm up the road alignment, pavement and bridge design to determine minimise cost and project schedule.
- Existing ElectraNet High Voltage (HV) Transmission lines found to be too low in height (clearance) crossed the new designated road pavement. These HV transmission lines had to be raised and the works need to be coordinated with ElectraNet whom engaged Enerven (SAPN) to perform this work. Ironically it was a Dommar resource working for Enerven that project managed the HV work associated with lifting the height of the existing HV transmission towers.
Extensive early stakeholder consultation associated with the delivery of the road works which were collectively paid between State Government, Gawler Council and the adjoining Land Developer. This multiple Stakeholder involvement required ongoing close engagement and approval from multiple parties across all aspects of the works including early design development, schedules, cost control and associated documentation. Early open consultation alleviated concerns whereby gaining stakeholder support including that of the local community.
Continuous implementation and monitoring of initiatives that fostered elevated safety awareness and ‘Zero Harm’ culture throughout the work areas. Continuous and regular use of group tool box meetings and discussion of safety at construction meetings with all contractors and sub-contractors so as to ensure that safety was always paramount and at the forefront; facilitated via continual awareness programs, training and issue of reminder notifications.
Because the project had a large footprint cover, it was important to establish and apply clear communication paths with everyone on the ground including the wider stakeholders not located on site. This fast communication path introduced transparency which made the project delivery process smoother and reduced unnecessary communication trails when problems arose with real time alerts, automated actions and easy-to-visualize dashboard reporting. This clear communication delivery framework was also applied at the higher project level associated with; contractual, costing, variations, scheduling, etc.

Whyalla and Adelaide Program of Upgrade Works

· Dommar have assigned a number of Project Managers to assist with the delivery of these works with some of our resources being based in Adelaide with others based in regional area such as Pt Augusta South Australia.

· The skills provided by Dommar mainly comprised of Project Management it also required the provision of wider scope comprising of contract management and works verification including monitoring of safety, quality and environmental management.

· The dommar resources are responsible for scheduling the works across a number of construction contractors whereby taking advantage of their synergises regarding speciality, locality and nature of the works best fit with each contractor’s core experience and capabilities.

· The minor works are programmed according to take into account specific issues such as but not limited to; local safety hazards attributed to road traffic conditions, topographical access and weather seasonal conditions (eg works performed outside of public holiday periods & festive periods an possibly not during periods of wet weather / possibly stormwater flooding, etc)

· Continuous implementation and monitoring of the program of minor works with a focus to foster elevated safety awareness and ‘Zero Harm’ culture throughout the many work areas.
